Save Corruption Glitch
In the Japanese and North American version of the game, there is a save corruption glitch when you play the game using a 20GB or 60GB Playstation 3 console. It happens completely at random (Meaning it's possible not to get it) but you can also force it by hitting the Playstation button on your controller in the middle of saving. The way to get around the problem is the same as Ar Tornelico if you played that and experienced it. If you didn't here are the approximate steps you should take to ensure you don't get screwwed out of your save:
Create several blank memory cards. I personally use five to eight just in case.
Set two of the blank memory cards rather than using ones with current saves on it.
Play the game like you would any other.
When you get to a save point you're going to save at, save.
Then click load instead of save (Unless saving right at the end of a chapter). If it doesn't popup saying that your save is corrupted, then you can continue playing
If you got a corrupted save, switch virtual memory cards until you don't get the error.
Every so often clean our your corrupted memory cards so you can repeat the process. It's not garunteed that the glitch will be the exact same as Ar Tonelico, but those were the steps that Ar Tonelico players had to take if they wished to play it on their Playstation 3. If you still have your Playstation 2, you may be better off using that if you don't wish to go through the hassle of save corruption. It's also possible you may not experience it through the entire game, but who knows. In the end, you've been warned so choose your own path of frustration.
Based on my own experience this only happened to me once through the entire game and three times to a friend. A couple others from other places did not seem to get it on their playthrough.

Mana Khemia on PSP in Japan
Mana Khemia is coming out on the PSP? Yes, it's true. However it's only been announced for Japan only so far. While it's possible it may be localized, it seems to be more of a port than anything else at this point. Yes they are adding in new battle elements, but Sony has very strict localization rules about ports that we've already recieved in the past. Much of the reason why Europe got Tales of Eternia and Breath of Fire on the PSP, but we did not. Disgaea is an example of having enough new content to be localized in the states on the PSP and probably also accompanied by the fact that it's one of the more popular rpg titles in the states. Which Mana Khemia may not end up being popular enough to even consider localization too.

Mana Khemia 2 Announced for Japan
Just as the title says, Mana Khemia 2 has been announced (http://i25.tinypic.com/ao25as.jpg) for Japan. No word yet on North American or European localization. The platform is on the Playstation 2, so we'll see.

Guide to be done by DoubleJump
Yeah, good news! DoubleJump has made the guide for Mana Khemia. The MSRP is $19.99 but like usual, most places are selling it at $24.99 like usual. If you have pre-ordered Mana Khemia from RosenQueen, they are offering a $5 discount on the guide (Which is listed as $19.99) from their site. Some people recieved this email, but not all did. If you weren't one who recieved an email, then you should contact RosenQueen via email or phone explaining that you didn't recieve the email and give them the proper information on your order if you're interested in purchasing it off of the RosenQueen site.
After having inspected the guide myself, you should note that it is missing maps of all the areas and it does not list ingredients for synthesis, nor does it specifically give locations to every recipe.
General Gameplay
The basic gameplay of Mana Khemia may seem familiar to you if you've played Persona 3 as they both take place in a school. While they are similar in that regard, they are still very different games. Within the game you will play as Vayne Aurelius and guide him through four years (12 school terms) of his life in the Alchemy Academy, Al-Revis. The story itself will be driven by events that take place at the beginning and end of each term. As this game is centered around the school, you will be taking classes. Fortunetly the game will allow you to sign up for these classes at the beginning of each term. However keep in mind that while you can sign up for classes, it's much like the american education system in the way that you're required to take certain classes and as you progress through your school years new classes open up and you will have less required classes. In these classes you will get assignments much like we do in real life and will be graded on them. If you obtain enough bad grades during a term for the assignment, then you'll be forced to stay for study hall and lose free time for you to build up relationships between characters and what not.
This time character building is a little different than what many of you are use to with previous games and even previous GUST games. You don't have the traditional leveling to do but instead use a Growth Book. In the Growth book you can use alchemy to craft items items which will unlock stats and skills you can raise/learn from the AP you've gained in battle. It's on a system similar to Final Fantasy X in the regard that you must make items in a set path for you to learn later abilities. You can't simply craft the best item and unlock it's skills. It's pretty simple and each character you obtain will have a different Growth Book.
For newcomers to the series, the battle system is a basic run of your mill turn-based RPG. Unlike other games in the same genre attacks will raise a gauge called your Burst Meter that will allow you to do more damage to the enemy and get in some large combos. Eventually you'll be able to even use finishing moves that will do a sizable amount of damage while in Burst Mode if you're able to fill up your Burst Gauge. Now for those who aren't new to GUST games will encounter something new thrown into the mix. That is the use of support characters while in battle for offensive and defensive purposes. Unlike previous games where you could only use three characters in battle and switch out whenever you felt you needed to, you can now have three characters as support. This will allow you to have them cover for you or perform various moves as you progress through the game to be able to unlock new things. It should add an interesting strategy to the mix for those of you who have played previous GUST games. Keep in mind though that even though you're essentially playing with six characters, if the three characters that are currently on the field die, then it will be game over.
Characters
EXAMPLE:
American Name (Japanese Name)
[ Grow Book]
<Short Description>
Vayne Aurelius (Vain Aureolus)
[ Grow Book (http://images.draekon.com/mk/Vayne.gif) ]
A student who was invited to attend the prestigious Al-Revis Academy. Although exactly why he was invited is a mystery. Many of the teachers think he is connected to a great alchemist named Theofratus who passed away recently. Vayne has lived quietly in the mountiains with Sulpher (His cat) for his entire life, and so he has never really had friends before, or been surrounded by so many people who weren't afraid of him.
Jessica Philomele (Philomel Hartung)
[ Grow Book (http://images.draekon.com/mk/Jess.gif) ]
Vayne's first friend, a cheerful and outgoing girl who loves alchemy a little too much. She's constantly trying to syntheses using strange methods and ingredients, and the results range from explosive to lethal if ingested. She means well, though, and is quite good at library research. Sometimes she seems a little shallow and uncaring for those around her, but she's not really a mean person. She just doesn't seem to expect things to last.
Flay Gunnar (Gunnar Damm)
[ Grow Book (http://images.draekon.com/mk/Flay.gif) ]
An Al-Revis perpetual senior and wannabe superhero, who keeps failing to graduate because he has much bigger things on his mind than exams. Of course, all of his friends graduated last year, so he's on the verge of losing his workshop if he can't get some more alchemists to join it. Fortunetly, there's a new crop of naive freshmen that are perfect for his purposes...
Roxis Rosenkrantz (Loxis Rosenkranz)
[ Grow Book (http://images.draekon.com/mk/Roxis.gif) ]
A "transfer student" who shows up halfway through Vayne's freshman year, Roxis is cold and disagreeable with everyone around him. His only focus is achievement, and he seems to get results more out of persistance than natural talent. He deeply hates Vayne, although why isn't entirely clear. Roxis comes from the prestigious Rosenkrantz line of alchemists, although it's been many years since Rosenkrantz managed to attend Al-Revis.
Anna Lemouri (Anna Laemmle)
[ Grow Book (http://images.draekon.com/mk/Anna.gif) ]
A freshman who begins attending Al-Revis Academy during Vayne's sophmore year. Anna is roughly three years younger than all of her classmates. Originally from mysterious Oriental lands, Anna is an expert with the katana that she carries around with her at all times. She is diligent and hardworking to a degree that exhausts those around her, and she has absolutely no patience for Flay's shenanigans.
Nichole Mimi Tithel (Titil Mimi Nike Mele)
[ Grow Book (http://images.draekon.com/mk/Nikki.gif) ]
A student from the exotic beastman lands who gets hijacked into sharing a workshop with Vayne and Jessica. Nikki's a potent fighter (as most beastmen are), and has an easy-going, upbeat personality. Although her grades are decent, she doesn't really like studying hard or doing homework. She'd much rather play and relax, which almost makes you think she didn't come to Al-Revis because of an interest in alchemy at all.
Pamela Ibis (Pamela Ibis)
[ Grow Book (http://images.draekon.com/mk/Pamela.gif) ]
One of the school's strangest attractions. Pamela emerges from the Resource Center every summer to scare that year's freshman class. After that... well, everyone gets used to her. Pamela's been dead for at least a few centuries, as she attended Al-Revis Academy with the current principal's grandfather. She doesn't remember much about what killed her, although she's still a good alchemist.
Muppy Oktavia Vonderchek VIII (Mupe Oktavia Wondrachek VII)
[ Grow Book (http://images.draekon.com/mk/Muppy.gif) ]
At some point in the distant past, perhaps as thousand years ago, Muppy's spaceship crash-landed at Al-Revis. Now that he's awakened, he finds that getting his ship to leave the floating island is absolutely impossible. Something else inside must be broken... and his only hope of fixing it is to learn enough alchemy to do so.

Guide to be done by DoubleJump
Yeah, good news! DoubleJump has made the guide for Mana Khemia. The MSRP is $19.99 but like usual, most places are selling it at $24.99 like usual. If you weren't one who recieved an email, then you should contact RosenQueen via email or phone explaining that you didn't recieve the email and give them the proper information on your order if you're interested in purchasing it off of the RosenQueen site.
